EmmaEmma V. Richardson is a post-doctoral fellow in the department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health Professions. Specializing in the study of disability, exercise, health and well-being and qualitative methods, Emma’s doctoral thesis explored the experiences and perceived impact of disabled gym instructors working in the fitness industry. At UAB, she is a member of the COMPLETe project. This project involves developing a conceptual model and toolkit for exercise promotion through the patient-provider interaction. The purpose of this toolkit is to equip health care practitioners (HCPs) with the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to enable them to support patients with MS in their long term exercise behavior.
