Undergraduate Admissions

Students interested in health care or who plan to apply to a professional graduate program in one of the health areas may choose to major in either Biomedical Sciences or Health Care Management in the School of Health Professions (SHP).

Both of the majors offer pre-professional tracks and other areas of concentration. Health Professions' academic advisors will help you plan your schedules to help you reach your goals. Some of the professional programs in UAB Health Professions offer early admission opportunities.

Note: Admission to UAB does not guarantee admission to the professional phase of any SHP program.

Graduate Admissions

All students applying for master's, doctoral, or academic certificate programs offered through SHP must apply through the UAB Graduate School application.

Each program has specific admissions requirements and deadlines, and some programs use national applications as part of the admissions process. Admissions processes and requirements are listed on each program page in the Degrees & Certificates section. Please contact the individual program if you have questions about the admissions process or contact the Office of Student Recruitment, Engagement and Suppport This email address is being protected from spambots.
