SHP Student Ambassadors
The purpose of our Ambassador Program is to spread awareness of the School of Health Professions and its multifaceted undergraduate programs, serve as liaisons between the departmental and university wide student organizations, serve as a student voice in school and university wide committees, and with the timely goal of creating a sense of community for all SHP students.
The UAB SHP Ambassadors will represent, serve, and unite students, faculty, staff, and alumni by demonstrating the values of SHP. They will assist with SHP recruitment and retention initiatives, serve as liaison amongst student organizations and as a voice for undergraduate students on designated school-wide committees.

Request an Ambassador
Our Ambassador Program is coordinated through the Office of Student Services and Advising, which assists each Ambassador in maximizing their personal, social, and professional growth. Please submit your request at least two weeks prior to your event. The SHP Ambassador Program strives to accommodate all requests, but please remember that in addition to receiving many requests, we also must respect our Ambassadors’ academic schedules. Thank you.
Become an Ambassador
This is our newest student leadership opportunity. Our dedicated ambassadors are committed to serving SHP as hosts, check-in leads, visitor accompaniment, tour guide and more. They deliver hours of service to various SHP departments throughout the year and bring a respected reputation of integrity, service, and tradition to all they do.
Ambassadors are selected each fall semester and serve a one year term beginning the following spring semester. Membership is open to all SHP students (undergraduate or graduate) enrolled fulltime that have completed 12 hours at UAB prior to applying. Only a handful of outstanding students are chosen each year to serve as SHP Ambassadors. Once selected, you must have and maintain a 3.0 cumulative UAB grade point average.
Please note: The SHP Ambassador program can be time consuming and requires a positive attitude. Be prepared to hold doors, greet guests, smile, welcome people, check-in guests, etc.
