Mercy Catholic Medical Center announces Christopher Cullom, FACHE, alumnus of the UAB School of Health ProfessionsM.S. in Health Administration program (Class 42), as president effective August 12, 2019. He will oversee MCMC – Mercy Fitzgerald Campus and MCMC – Mercy Philadelphia Campus. Mercy Catholic Medical Center is part of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic.

“It’s a great honor to be named as the president of Mercy Catholic Medical Center and to join the Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic team,” Cullom said in a statement. “I look forward to continuing Mercy Catholic Medical Center’s long legacy as a community leader in high-quality, patient-centered care.”

James L. Woodward, President and CEO of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, added, “His experience, enthusiasm and leadership will further establish Mercy Catholic Medical Center as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within the community.”

Prior to joining MCMC, Cullom served in a number of leadership positions for not-for-profit and for-profit health care organizations. Most recently he was assistant executive director of University of Pennsylvania Health System’s Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he oversaw a wide range of clinics, laboratories and services. Before then, he was market operations director of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia where he was accountable for the operational, strategic and financial success of the Physician Practice Plan.

Cullom is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He earned his MSHA/MBA from UAB in 2008. The UAB MSHA program is ranked #1 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and is housed in the UAB Department of Health Services Administration.
