The Department of Occupational Therapy offers an online post-professional Clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD) for working occupational therapists who want to advance their education and careers.
Students may combine the Vision Rehabilitation Graduate Certificate with the post-professional OTD by applying certificate credit hours toward the doctoral degree.
The post-professional OTD is designed for part-time enrollment, with students taking one or two courses per semester.
Two Options
-
Option 1: Complete the certificate and post-professional OTD at the same time
Students may take courses in the Vision Rehabilitation Graduate Certificate while progressing through the post-professional OTD program
- Certificate courses must be completed in sequence.
- Students may take only one certificate course per semester.
- Students must submit two separate applications to the UAB Graduate School:
- one for the Vision Rehabilitation Graduate Certificate
- one for the post-professional OTD
- A separate application fee is required for each program
-
Option 2: Complete the certificate first, then apply to the OTD program
For graduate certificate credit hours to apply toward the post-professional OTD program, you must be accepted to the program within 5 years of earning the Vision Rehabilitation Graduate Certificate.
