Facilitator Development: Opioid Simulation Facilitator

The objective of the Opioid Simulation is to give current and future healthcare professionals an opportunity to experience opioid use disorder and to increase empathy and decrease stigma associated with opioid use disorder. The Opioid Simulation Facilitator course will prepare you to facilitate this unique tabletop experience for learners at your institution. The workshop is required before the loan or purchase of a simulation kit.

SimUAB is pleased to offer a three (3) hour facilitator course for those interested in raising awareness and understanding of opioid use disorder by implementing the Opioid Simulation. The course consists of didactic learning, discussion, and a hands-on experience.

There are no prerequisites for this course, but Sim 1: Introduction to Simulation is helpful.

The University of Alabama School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
