The objective of the Opioid Simulation is to give individuals an opportunity to experience opioid use disorder and to increase empathy and decrease stigma associated with opioid use disorder. The Opioid Simulation Facilitator course will prepare you to facilitate this unique tabletop experience for learners at your institution. The workshop is required before the loan or purchase of a simulation kit.
SimUAB is pleased to offer a three (3) hour facilitator course for faculty and staff interested in raising awareness and understanding of opioid use disorder by implementing the Opioid Simulation. The course consists of didactic learning, discussion, and a hands-on experience.
There are no prerequisites for this course, but Sim 1: Introduction to Simulation is helpful.
If you are a student interested in the Opioid Simulation, please contact your instructor or email oips@uab.edu
