Position description and duties:

Under the supervision of Dr. Van Nghiem and Dr. Andrzej Kulczycki, this person will assist with the conduct of different aspects of a literature review that will contribute to the development of the data collection tools for our cervical cancer screening project in Alabama.

Duration: about 12 weeks starting mid or end of October

Standard hourly rate: $15/hour for ~20 hours/week

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct literature search on relevant topics on PUBMED and other relevant electronic databases
  • Help with the review and critique of relevant literature on cervical cancer screening
  • Help manage relevant data abstraction for the varies studies reviewed
  • Help organize the data collection tools for a community-based cervical cancer screening project in Alabama
  • No travel required
  • No patient contact required

Required qualifications:

  • An interest in studying and conducting research in public health, women’s health
  • Experience in conducting literature searches with PubMed or any other scientific search engines (e.g., Web of Science, EMBASE); or a willingness and a good aptitude in learning this skill
  • Detail-oriented
  • Good writing skills
