CEPH Accreditation Badge: Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), which is an independent agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit schools and programs of public health. CEPH assists schools and programs in evaluating the quality of their instructional, research, and service efforts, and grants accreditation to those schools and programs that meet its published criteria.

Every seven years CEPH requires schools and programs to apply for re-accreditation. A critical part of that process is the completion of a detailed self-study using criteria prescribed by CEPH. Additionally, schools and programs seeking re-accreditation must host a site visit by a CEPH review team.

At its June 15-18, 2016 meeting, CEPH re-accredited the UAB School of Public Health for a seven-year term, extending the school's accreditation through July 1, 2023.

UAB has the only CEPH-accredited School of Public Health in Alabama.
