Post 9/11 STEM Program

Attention STEM Scholars!

VA has launched the Edith Nourse Rogers STEM Scholarship program for students training in high demand STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields.

The Rogers STEM Scholarship will provide up to nine months of additional Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits (to a maximum of $30,000) to qualifying Veterans and Fry Scholars seeking an undergraduate STEM degree or who have earned a STEM degree and are seeking a teaching certification.

Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program

You may receive Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) services to help with job training, employment accommodations, resume development, and job seeking skills coaching. Other services may be provided to assist Veterans in starting their own businesses or independent living services for those who are severely disabled and unable to work in traditional employment.

Alabama GI Dependent Scholarship Program

Alabama GI Dependent Scholarship Program

This nationally renowned program was created by Act 633 and approved October 1947 by the Alabama Legislature. It is administered by the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs and is governed by the Code of Alabama 1975, Section 31-6-1. The veteran must meet the qualifications listed to establish eligibility of his/her dependents.

Due to FERPA regulations, UAB is not accepting ANGEAP applications via email for security reasons. The form can be uploaded, mailed, faxed, or you can drop off the application with the One Stop office in the Hill Student Center.

If you wish to submit your form digitally, request to have access to the upload link on your My Financial Aid Page in BlazerNet. Please send a Financial Aid Change Request or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to request the link be added to your BlazerNet. Once you have access to the link, you should find a small upload button to the right of the Status Date. You should get a confirmation email in 3-5 business days after submitting to notify you that your application was received. Let financial aid know if you have any issues submitting your form.

A new form will need to be uploaded EACH semester that you plan to use the program. If you are failing SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress), you must have an approved SAP appeal every semester to qualify for ANGEAP programs funds.
