It's always the right time to take a stand against interpersonal violence!

Sexual violence and relationship violence occur at alarming rates within the college student population. Statistics indicate that 1 in 5 women will experience rape or attempted rape (CDC), and 1 in 16 men will be sexually assaulted (White House Task Force). Data also shows that almost 1 in 4 college students report experiencing dating violence by a current partner. When previous partners are factored in, that number is higher. For this reason, it's crucial that we bring these issues to the forefront with students throughout their time in college. During the spring semester we coordinate a series of initiatives that encourage students to think critically about these issues and to support survivors within the Blazer community.

Everyone is affected by these issues. We all have a role to play in changing the culture that allows these acts of violence to continue. As a member of the Blazer community, your support of and participation in these initiatives shows that we do not tolerate interpersonal violence!
