Fall 2019-Spring 2020 Parking Options and Pricing

UAB Transportation has changed the structure of parking at UAB, by placing all lots into one of seven zones. The lots are grouped by proximity, and should reduce the time spent searching for a parking space. It is crucial students choose the correct zone for their needs, as exchanges may not be possible. Permits may be ordered online beginning April 1, and will be mailed to the address provided beginning July 1. Orders submitted July 1 or after will be mailed the next business day.  Charges will be applied to your student account at the beginning of the Fall semester. Ordering early will improve your chances of receiving your desired zone.

Alternative Commutes

UAB encourages the use of alternate modes of transportation such as carpooling, walking, biking, and riding the Blazer Express bus system to reduce congestion and ease the demand for parking.

UAB Transportation’s new Transportation Demand Management Program is focusing on strategies that help UAB save money, sustain our environment and provide access to alternative transportation. UAB will target safety and security improvements at existing parking facilities, better services from Blazer Express and efforts to help Birmingham develop a comprehensive transportation network.
