UAB Benevolent Fund- Supporting the Community for 31 Years

College of Arts and Sciences Packing LunchesIMAGINE...

Imagine having a safe place to sleep. Imagine every child achieving academic excellence. Imagine access to preventative health care and education.
UAB employees work to support the community through the Benevolent Fund, their very own charitable giving non-profit. These funds support programs that provide health care screenings, safe harbor for survivors of domestic violence, nutritious meals for the hungry, cutting edge medical research and assistance for our co-workers in times of need.

Your pledge is what we need to turn imagination into reality.

Community Impact Grant Recipient
Magic City Harvest

In December 2014, Magic City Harvest became the first recipient of UAB's Community Impact Grant. UAB employees voted to award $50,000 in employee contributions to purchase an 18 foot refrigerated truck to allow Magic City Harvest to distribute an additional 500,000 pounds of salvaged food annually.

Applications are currently out for the 2015 Community Impact Grant. As UAB Employees, we will need your help again this year in deciding which finalist should receive the $50,000 award in December.

Employee Emergency Assistance Program

UAB and The Benevolent Fund know how important it is to take care of our employees, especially those facing health and safety issues. The Employee Emergency Asssitance Program provides finacial support to UAB employees facing financial instability due to a qualifying life event. We encourage employees to contact us during a time of need and to share this information with co-workers. You can support this program through your pledge by leaving your funds undesignated.
