Benevolent Fund Campaign Encourages Employees to IMAGINE...

Imagine having a safe place to sleep. Imagine every child achieving academic excellence. Imagine access to preventative health care and education.

UAB employees hope to raise $1,910,000 in pledges during the 2015 UAB Benevolent Fund campaign. These funds support programs that provide health care screenings, safe harbor for survivors of domestic violence, nutritious meals for the hungry, cutting edge medical research and assistance for our co-workers in times of need.

Your pledge is what we need to turn imagination into reality.

The Benevolent Fund makes giving easy through payroll deductions.  Over the course of a year, your tax deductible gift combined with pledges from other employees will result in a tremendous amount of hope spread throughout our community. We are counting on you to participate at the level that is right for you.

The Benevolent Fund, founded and governed by UAB employees, recognizes the importance of giving back to our community. It benefits more than 120 charitable and health organizations that are transforming our community; additionally, it provides valuable assistance to qualifying co-workers through the Employee Emergency Assistance Program. Our energy for continuing this work is strong.

Ordinary employees committed to making an extraordinary difference in our community is what the Benevolent Fund is all about. Help overcome hunger, violence, disease and dispair with your pledge to the Benevolent Fund which supports safe harbor, cutting edge medical research, nutritious meals, and healthcare. Imagine what we can do together!

Annually, Magic City Harvest recovers two million pounds of excess perishable food and distributes nutritious food daily to people in need through collaborations with over 40 local charities. UAB employees voted to award $50,000 in employee contributions to purchase an 18 foot refrigerated truck to allow Magic City Harvest to distribute an additional 500,000 pounds of salvaged food annually.
