Several of the department's collaborative efforts center on patient care and services. These include:

Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy.
The Taub Therapy Clinic opened in 2001 and is part of the UAB Health System; it is located in the Center for Psychiatric Medicine with research space in the Russell Wing. The clinic is home to the innovative therapy and gold standard for Taub Training or Constraint-Induced Movement, which has demonstrated that patients improve the use of their disabled limbs following stroke or other neuromotor disorders. This also includes a partnership with Children’s Hospital for research and treatment of children with cerebral palsy.
