Joi Shelton is a Marriage and Family Associate Therapist (LMFTA). She received a Master of Science Degree (M.S.) in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Alabama, and previously worked at Capstone Family Therapy Clinic and Gibson Therapy Services in Tuscaloosa. She primarily utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy, in addition to acceptance and commitment therapy.

Joi strives to help clients acknowledge and embrace who they truly are. She encourages clients to create internal change that allows them to reach their goals and live to their desired potential. Joi believes that improving the inner self will positively spill into one’s relationships, work life, and other external factors. With a collaborative approach, Joi works alongside clients to promote their progress throughout therapy. Her pronouns are she/her/hers.
