UAB Minority Health & Health Disparities Research Center

Since its inception in 2003, the UAB Minority Health & Health Disparities Research Center (UAB MHRC) has worked to facilitate the development, implementation, and transfer of research-based information from biomedical, behavioral, and social sciences in order to reduce and eventually eliminate health disparities locally, regionally, and nationally. Designated as a Center of Excellence in Health Disparities by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, the UAB MHRC achieves its mission through innovative education, research, and community outreach. As a University-Wide Interdisciplinary Research Center, the UAB MHRC serves as an enabling platform for UAB’s research, teaching, and service missions.
