Demark-Wahnefried Appointed for a Second Term
The Department of Nutrition Sciences and the UAB School of Health Professions congratulate faculty member Dr. Wendy Demark-Wahnefried for being re-appointed for a second term to the National Cancer Policy Forum of the Institute of Medicine (IOM). This is a prestigious appointment. The National Cancer Policy Forum provides a continuous focus on cancer policy at the Institute of Medicine (IOM). IOM forums are designed to allow government, industry, academic, consumer, and other representatives to meet, confer, and plan on subject areas of mutual interest. The objectives of the Forum are to identify emerging high priority policy issues in the nation's effort to combat cancer and to examine those issues through convening activities that promote discussion about potential opportunities for action. Wendy has been a member of the forum for three years and has made meaningful contributions to its work.
