I am an associate professor in the Department of Nutrition Sciences, so I teach, and I also do research. I am currently studying how the matrix macroenvironment affects cancer development. The ability to gain insight through research really drives me. I was born in Chia-Ya, Taiwan, and in my 22 years in Birmingham, I've really come to appreciate the friendly community-and the lack of major traffic jams here. I do some work on weekends, but when I'm not working, I do work with Zonta International, working to improve the status of women in the world, and sometimes have friends over for dinner.
