Who We Are
The Commission is comprised of university staff, faculty, administration and students who bring varied views but a shared passion for enabling all members of the UAB family to grow in professional success.
Professional success depends on a workplace infrastructure that fosters space for success and growth. The Commission on the Status of Professional Success is committed to supporting all members of the UAB community – students, faculty, and staff – by advising, assessing and promoting initiatives that advance education and resources relevant to professional success in collaboration with the Office of Access and Engagement and other campus partners.
Members meet throughout the year to collaborate on events, initiatives and efforts. Members of the Commission serve up to three years, with new members nominated their respective academic or administrative unit.
What We Do
- Advise the President and UAB Administration by proposing initiatives and providing insights on policies and practices that foster professional success.
- Assess the current campus climate and conditions to identify opportunities for and barriers to professional success at UAB.
- Support and provide resources for education, development, and advancement in collaboration with the Office of Access and Engagement
