Academic Accommodations and Modifications

Disability Support Services (DSS) serves as the central contact point for students with disabilities. The goal of DSS is to provide an accessible University environment that ensures an individual is viewed on the basis of ability, not disability. DSS works individually with students to determine appropriate and reasonable academic accommodations. DSS also serves as a resource to faculty members and University departments, assisting them in accommodating the needs of individuals with disabilities in the classroom and other program settings.

Students who believe they have been discriminated against on the basis of their disability (including being denied access or accommodations as required by law) should refer to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)/Section 504 Grievance Procedures.

Visitors

UAB will make all reasonable modifications to its programs and services to ensure that individuals with disabilities have an equal opportunity to enjoy them. Visitors requesting reasonable accommodations and/or filing a complaint related to disability discrimination should contact the ADA Compliance Officer.
