Request COVID-19 Temporary Adjustments for Summer 2021
The deadline to submit for academic adjustments for Summer 2021 is 05/24/2021.
Students who meet the following qualifying conditions may be eligible for COVID-19 related temporary adjustments.
- Students considered a higher risk for severe illness per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Students that believe they fit this criterion will need to provide medical documentation from their provider verifying diagnosis and/or discussing the high-risk factors associated with the condition. Symptoms associated with fear of illness and fear of contracting an illness would not be supported as high-risk for COVID-19.
- Students who reside with or care for someone (in a non-healthcare setting) who is considered a high-risk individual. Please note that choosing to return home (outside of the Birmingham area) would not be supported in the category. Adjustments in this category are not intended to give a student the option to create a distance program that is not otherwise distance or online. Students that believe they fit this criterion will need to provide documentation of their living arrangements and documentation of the person and the illness they care for or reside with.
