2018 Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition

April 16 - April 28, 2018

Seventeen graduating University of Alabama at Birmingham students will have their works featured in the 2018 Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition.

The students, in the College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Art and Art History, have produced works that represent the culmination of their academic and studio education at UAB, says interim chair Jessica Dallow, Ph.D. “The BFA exhibition is a highlight of the BFA undergraduate career. Displaying a breadth of media, quality craft and conceptual depth, the students’ work reflects the rigorous program of artistic study and demonstrates and celebrates students’ accomplishments,” Dallow says.

The artists are Jennifer Lemons, Bailey Barrow, Anne Marie Cartwright, Caroline Etheriedge, Morgan Fowler, Camille Goulet, Rachel Hendrix, Cima Khademi, Alexandra Kulick, Cameron Larsen, Courtney Lassiter, Meghan Malone, Joni Moore, Amanda Morgado, Rachel Ozley, Tyra Robinson, and Emily Stroud.

The Department of Art and Art History’s Bachelor of Fine Arts degree offers students an intensive exploration across a breadth of media, and within a depth of discipline that allows the undergraduate student to prepare to be an artist or designer, to begin a career in the arts, or to continue his or her studies in graduate school. Students gain skills and competencies including team-based learning, technology, communication, aesthetic judgment, interdisciplinary and innovative approaches, critical analysis, and professional development throughout their program of study.
