UAB Professor Noted for Outstanding Academic Advising

At first glance, a chemistry degree may not seem like a natural pathway into business. But Kate Flowers is quick to challenge that assumption.

UAB’s commencement marks the close of one chapter for Deason as she steps away from her role as a Friend of Blaze and leaves behind a legacy of Blazer spirit and service. 

When Brianna Dotson walks across the commencement stage, she will graduate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a multidisciplinary academic focus, earning a major in Psychology and minors in African American Studies and Public Health.  Here, she reflects with CAS on her college experience.
