The Physics Minor

Student using Laser

The Department of Physics offers a minor that is attractive for students required to take General Physics I & II as part of their major.

The physics minor enables students to gain an introductory understanding of Quantum Mechanics and its applications in chemistry, biology, engineering, and other applied sciences, as well as Einstein’s Special and General Theories of Relativity. This higher level of knowledge is accomplished by taking Modern Physics I and six additional semester hours of upper division physics courses of the student’s choice.
