Center for Interprofessional Education and Simulation

UAB’s Center for Interprofessional Education and Simulation (CIPES) is housed in the Office of the Provost. CIPES brings together students, faculty, and staff from each of its stakeholder schools into a cohesive and integrated system of interprofessional education and training.

CIPES facilitates interprofessional education and training on the UAB campus through three distinct offices: the Office of Interprofessional Curriculum (OIPC), the Office of Interprofessional Simulation (OIPS), and the Office of Standardized Patient Education (OSPE).

Join keynote speaker, Neil Mehta, MD, for an interactive session utilizing AI to develop interprofessional cases. Participants will have the opportunity to work on creating their own case during a breakout session.


The Symposium will highlight current and future Interprofessional (IP) programs at UAB and in the community. Presentations and activities will show how innovation is used to improve the safety and well being of patients in the healthcare system.
