Our mission is to support interprofessional educational experiences across the UAB campus.

Support services include administrative and technical assistance with interprofessional curriculum development and coordination of interprofessional activities among schools.

To integrate interprofessional curricular elements within the UAB academic system to prepare learners to provide collaborative, patient-centered care in order to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of health care delivery and the health of populations.

What is IP Education

“Interprofessional education occurs when two or more professions learn about, from and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes.” (World Health Organization, 2010)
“*Professional is an all-encompassing term that includes individuals with the knowledge and/or skills to contribute to the physical, mental and social well-being of a community.” (WHO, 2010)
