BioBridge for Rising 9th-graders

BioBridge is a week-long course offered twice during the summer that provides hands-on experiences covering the principles of cellular and molecular biology and genetics using biotechnology and hands-on laboratory techniques. Students will get a head-start on 9th-grade biology content in the context of cancer research. Students will learn about the fundamentals of cancer from UAB Pathologists, undergraduate students, and world-renowned researchers.

CORD offers summer research experiences for rising high school freshmen. The Summer Science Institute- BioBridge (SSI-BioBridge) focuses on building the next generation of scientists. SSI-BioBridge is sponsored by

  • UAB Center for Community OutReach Development (CORD)
  • The O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB
  • The National Cancer Institute (NCI)
