Welcome to the UAB Employee Assistance & Counseling Center

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE: The UAB EACC is closed to in-person appointments; however, counselors will continue to provide counseling services via telemental health/distance counseling.

  • If you are a current EACC client with a scheduled appointment, your counselor will reach out to you by email to confirm your appointment. Please respond within 24 hours of your appointment. The email will indicate you have a secure message and prompt you to create a login and password to access the information. If you want to cancel your appointment, please call 205-934-2281. Services will be provided using the HIPAA compliant video teleconferencing application Zoom.
  • If you are a new client, please complete the intake paperwork and our program coordinator will call you within 24 to 48 hours (M-F) to schedule an appointment for a telephone triage/intake.
  • Please note urgent client matters will be given first priority for follow-up appointments.
  • Clients experiencing a mental health emergency or crisis should go to the UAB Emergency Department (ED), the UAB Highlands ED, or the nearest ED for immediate assistance. You may also access these emergency resources.
  • If you need to speak with your counselor, leave a message on our voicemail, and they will respond within one business day. If you have a counseling emergency, you can reach the EACC on-call counselor through UAB Connect at 205-934-3411.
