Amy joined the Harbert Institute in 2022 after almost a decade of experience in communications and marketing. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English and journalism from Auburn University, first working as a reporter and editor and then making the switch to communications and marketing after a few years spent at home raising her children. She returned to the workforce as the marketing manager for Innovate Birmingham before moving to her current role at UAB. As the marketing manager, Amy’s primary job is to tell the story of the Harbert Institute, both in the UAB community and to the public at large. She is rarely seen without a book in one hand and a coffee in the other.
