Which software is best for your needs?
UAB offers free Adobe Acrobat to all faculty, staff and students. Students also receive Adobe Creative Cloud free. Adobe Creative Cloud licenses are available by request for faculty and staff.

Acrobat Reader
Free for all of UAB.
PDF Reader Tool. View, search, comment, complete forms, sign documents and more

Acrobat Pro
Included in Creative Cloud.
PDF Creation Tool. All reader capabilities plus create, edit, and add interactivity to PDF documents.

Creative Cloud
Free for Students.
Creative and Collaborative Tools. Illustrating, imagining, video editing, publishing, etc. Available to all students for free, and on request for faculty and staff.
Get started
Licenses for students using Creative Cloud and all UAB users using Acrobat Reader will be automatically granted while you are enrolled or employed at UAB. Faculty and staff must request a license for Creative Cloud.

Adobe Firefly (AI Tool)
UAB users who have access to Adobe Creative Cloud will also be able to utilize Adobe Firefly , a suite of generative AI tools. When using any AI tool, refer to UAB's AI principles and guidelines .
- Students have free access to Adobe Firefly through Creative Cloud, with a limited number of Creative Cloud licenses available for faculty and staff. See the links above to request Creative Cloud.
- Adobe Firefly pulls from Adobe Stock images, along with public domain materials and open licensed sources.
- Content Credentials may be applied to some creations from Firefly.
