HIV Testing Services
The UAB 1917 Clinic offers confidential and free point-of-care HIV testing for those wishing to learn their HIV status.
HIV test results are usually available within twenty (20) minutes. No insurance is required for HIV testing.
STI Testing Services
Individuals receiving HIV testing may also be eligible to complete additional STI testing. These tests cover Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Trichomonas, and Syphilis. Samples are processed at an external laboratory and results are usually available within 10 business days. No insurance is required for STI testing.
- If you are a current 1917 Clinic client, please call 205-934-1917 and select the "Sick Call" option to schedule an appointment.
- If you are a current PrEP Clinic client, please call 205-975-9232 to schedule an appointment.
Appointments strongly encouraged. Walk-Ins are welcome. Please see below for service specific hours of operation.
- When you arrive, head up to the 2nd Floor and tell our main Check-In desk staff that you're here for HIV testing.
