Graduates should be well prepared to excel in the most competitive fellowship programs or begin a career in academic or private practice. All graduates should be well versed in quality improvement and patient safety methodology. In addition, residents should be prepared to be leaders in academics, in their medical community, or in hospital administrative leadership positions.
