
The membership of the CAMBAC have a strong commitment to the development of training programs that capture the new paradigms and technologies that are driving research in arthritis, musculoskeletal, bone, and autoimmune diseases. CAMBAC members hold leadership roles in several institutional training grants. In addition to institutional training grants, multiple Center faculty members are mentors or recipients of on individual training grants.

The Training Program in Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases Research builds on trans-departmental initiatives in mechanisms of arthritis, autoimmunity, inflammation, bone, and musculoskeletal diseases, and state of the art basic, translational, clinical, and outcomes research. An effective interdisciplinary training program requires faculty with collaborative and synergistic scientific interests and projects, as well as systematic coordination of training opportunities.

Training Grant in Immunologic Diseases and Basic Immunology

The multidisciplinary UAB Immunology Training Program is focused on training highly motivated pre-doctoral students in the fields of translational and fundamental immunology. The primary focus of UAB’s immunology research remains the elucidation of pathogenic mechanisms operative in diseases of immune etiology.
