Dr. DeLaney graduated with a degree in Religious Studies from the University of Virginia and later attended medical school at the University of South Alabama. He completed residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine and practiced in the community before coming to UAB. He is an associate professor and is the associate residency program director. He is a regular contributor to several medical podcasts including EMRAP and ERCAST, is the co-host of Urgent Care RAP and the JACEP Open Podcast, and is on faculty for the Adult EM Bootcamp and Essentials of Emergency Medicine. He is a regular lecturer at multiple national and international educational conferences and has a particular interest in risk management and improving outcomes for both patients and clinicians.
