Biography

Dr. Khoury is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine and UAB’s emergency medicine residency program and now serves as the residency program director. Dr. Khoury’s interests include resident and medical student education, physician mentorship, leadership development, and hyperbaric medicine. Dr. Khoury is passionate about physician mentorship and has served as a lead mentor in the School of Medicine’s Learning Community Program. He currently serves on the Executive Committee for Graduate Medical Education at UAB and is on numerous national committees. Dr. Khoury earned a Master of Science in Health Administration and has been involved in numerous health system-wide initiatives and committees. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Alabama Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Khoury regularly lectures at emergency medicine conferences both nationally and internationally, with a focus on resident education, leadership development, and fostering and developing relationships with emergency medicine departments abroad.
