How to get here

The Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) is conveniently located just a couple miles from the UAB campus. Ubers, Taxi Cabs and rental cars are available to get you to/from the airport and around town. If you choose to book a room under our room block, the Hilton offers complimentary airport transportation and transportation within one mile of the hotel. Please call the hotel for any requests.

We have reserved a room block at the Hilton Birmingham at UAB. This hotel is conveniently located near restaurants, UAB's campus and a short walk to the UAB Hill Student Center where the conference will be held. Travel Awards

Travel awards up to $2,000 per person are available for this conference! This provides reimbursement for travel-related expenses, including transportation to and from the airport, parking, lodging and meals. To apply:

  1. Awardees must be eary an stage investigator (within 10 years of their terminal degree or initial academic appointment), post-docs or students of any type.

  2. Awardees can be from anywhere and do not need to be from any NIDDK-funded program.

  3. The applicant must submit a paragraph explaining why they wish to attend the event and how it would benefit them.
