Biography

Dr. Andre’ McShan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and is an Occupational Medicine Physician at The Workplace at UAB Highlands. Dr. McShan is a Birmingham native, leaving to attend Morehouse College for his undergraduate education. He went on to attend Meharry Medical College where he received his MD and MSPH degrees. He is a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO) and is nationally certified as a DOT Medical Examiner by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Dr. McShan is active with The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. He is the past president of the college’s regional affiliate, the Mid-South Occupational and Environmental Medicine Association. He is a member of the College’s national governing body, the House of Delegates. He has also served on several other committees and subgroups and is a recognized Fellow of the College.

Dr. McShan’s areas of interest include post-injury work reintegration, workplace wellness and health promotion, health and productivity management, environmental medicine and social determinants of health.
