MENTOR, or Mindfulness, Exercise and Nutrition To Optimize Recovery and Resilience, was established to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and wellness for individuals who have been recently hospitalized, are receiving inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation for treatment related to a recently acquired disability or diagnosis, or are receiving care for a secondary health condition associated with an existing disability.

Danielle K. Powell, M.D., MSPH, associate professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, has agreed to accept the role as interim chair for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, effective March 1, 2020.

Unlike some clinics, the UAB Medicine Orthotics and Prosthetics Clinic designs, makes, and adjusts prostheses in house at UAB Medicine, which makes it easier for patients to get a proper fit in less time.

The new concussion clinic will provide continuing care for adults who have experienced a concussion.
