Interventional Pulmonary Conference

This weekly conference covers all core topics in Interventional Pulmonology and is led by the IP fellow. In addition, interesting case discussions, M&M, and journal club are also done during this conference. This conference is also attended by the Vanderbilt University IP program and occasionally by experts from other UAB departments, adding significantly to the depth of the discussion.

Thoracic Oncology Tumor Board

Through a multidisciplinary discussion and live review of radiology and pathology images, this weekly conference aims to answer clinical questions regarding diagnosis and management of patients with thoracic malignancies. The tumor board is led by our IP team and attended by thoracic surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, radiologists and pathologists.

Complex Airway Disease Conference

Patients with malignant and non-malignant complex airway diseases are discussed at this conference. It is attended by Interventional Pulmonology, ENT, Thoracic surgery, and Gastroenterology to formulate multidisciplinary plans of care for these patients.

Thoracic Surgery Conference

The thoracic surgery conference curriculum has significant overlap with our IP conference and IP fellows are strongly encouraged to attend this weekly conference.

IP fellows are also encouraged to attend our daily Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Conference and weekly Medical Grand Rounds.
