Bruce F. Connell M.D. Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Fellowship

The Bruce F. Connell M.D. Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Fellowship at UAB is a one-year post-residency fellowship in the Division of Plastic Surgery focused specifically on aesthetic (cosmetic) plastic surgery training. It is named for Dr. Bruce F. Connell, a pioneering figure in facial rejuvenation and aesthetic surgery.

Fellows complete their core plastic surgery residency elsewhere and then come to UAB for dedicated, high-volume experience in cosmetic procedures under the aesthetic faculty.

Recent alumni have gone on to residencies and practices at institutions including Yale, MedStar Georgetown, and Duke, reflecting the fellowship’s role as a capstone aesthetic-focused year for graduates of top plastic surgery programs nationally.
