As the Minority Health & Health Equity Research Center embarks on its next phase, it calls on all community members to work together to make health equity a reality.
During this session, moderated by Regina Benjamin, M.D., 18th U.S. surgeon general, panelists will discuss the move from health disparities to health equity.
The designated partners have shown their commitment to their employees by promoting a healthy lifestyle. They encourage employees to take physical activity breaks, offer tips for healthy eating, host health and wellness sessions for team members, and more.
The Vilcek Foundation and The Arnold P. Gold Foundation have announced Mona Fouad, M.D., as the recipient of the 2022 Vilcek-Gold Award for Humanism in Healthcare.
Vendors at the event will offer health screenings, interactive activities, and information focused on health, wellness, physical activity, education and good nutrition.

This revitalization kick-off event follows ribbon-cuttings held in two other Live HealthSmart Alabama demonstration communities, Titusville and Kingston, earlier this year. 

The study concluded that participants were hesitant to receive the COVID-19 vaccine due to mistrust, fear and lack of information.

Dina Avery, DHSc, will serve a two-year term on the board of the Association of Graduate Regulatory Educators.
