For UAB’s 50th anniversary, faculty, staff and students are focused on serving the Greater Birmingham community through 50 Acts of Service.    
The Birmingham City Council passed an ordinance on Tuesday, Oct. 15, that establishes a non-smoking Health District on Birmingham’s Southside. Smoking will be prohibited on public property – including city streets and sidewalks within the Heath District.
