For UAB’s 50th anniversary, faculty, staff and students are focused on serving the Greater Birmingham community through 50 Acts of Service.    
The Birmingham City Council passed an ordinance on Tuesday, Oct. 15, that establishes a non-smoking Health District on Birmingham’s Southside. Smoking will be prohibited on public property – including city streets and sidewalks within the Heath District.
Already one of only 14 colleges or universities named a Diversity Champion, UAB receives 2019 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award.
The 7 p.m. outdoor concert is free and open to the public, but tickets will be required for entry. Tickets will be available Sept. 19 for UAB and Sept. 20 for the public.
