Student Affairs Committee

The School of Health Professions' Student Affairs Committee provides guidance, promotes a supportive learning environment, and encourages academic success as well as personal development. The 16 members include students, faculty and staff from all five departments and the Dean's Office. The committee works under the supervision of the SHP Office of Student Recruitment, Engagement and Success.

Rooms Reserved for Salat

During the 2019 fall semester, LRC Room 263 is reserved Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m to 5:00 p.m. for Salat. There are only two days with exceptions - September 18 (1130 - 230, LRC 257; 230 - 300, SHPB 230; 300 - 500, LRC 210A) and November 20 (1130 - 500, LRC 210A).

Our Mission

The Student Affairs Committee (SAC) will concentrate on student success by emphasizing the following core areas:

  • Maintain an environment that is consistent with equitable support of the student.
  • Develop and cultivate positive relationships among the faculty, students, staff and community.
  • Create a safe and healthy environment that supports student recruitment and student retention.
  • Promote learning, leadership and professional growth both in and outside of the classroom.
