Facilitator Development: Procedural Skills Facilitator

The goal of the procedural simulation is to train in a safe environment where clinicians’ skills can be developed without putting our patients at risk. Using simulation, procedural training brings the clinician to a safety standard, then to clinical competence more rapidly than training without simulation. SimUAB is pleased to offer the Procedural Skills Facilitator course to assist those who teach procedural skills. The course is dedicated to developing the skills required to facilitate quality procedural skills training. This course introduces the framework for procedural skills acquisition and various coaching techniques in small group instruction, followed by hands on practice in the procedural simulation lab. There are no prerequisites for this course, but participation in Sim 1 prior to this course is helpful.
