In addition to his work as a Professor of Health Policy and Organization, Dr. Ford’s contributions to the field of Healthcare Management go beyond education. Dr. Ford is the Editor of the Journal of Healthcare Management, he has 25 years of experience working with health systems, and has conducted research evaluating how the electronic medical record (EMR) can be used as a tool for quality improvement among other areas of study.
“In the international market, governments are taking a more holistic approach to ensuring hospital and health system quality, safety and patient engagement, and taking a population health approach is key in such cases” said Dr. Eric Ford. “Joint Commission Resources is a remarkable organization that is one of the world’s leading innovators working in support of healthcare systems both in the U.S. and abroad, and I am honored to join the board. The JCR’s focus on meeting clients’ needs in real-time and on a continuous basis are two strengths that set the organization apart.”
