The UAB Vision Science Research Center Presents the UAB Vision Research Forum

The UAB Vision Science Research Center is proud to announce the 1st Annual UAB Vision Research Forum. This event will feature data presented primarily by researchers in the School of Optometry and the Department of Ophthalmology at the upcoming Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) meeting May 3 - 7, 2015.

ARVO is the largest and most respected eye and vision research organization in the world. Founded in Washington D.C. in 1928 by a group of 73 ophthalmologists, ARVO’s mission is to advance research worldwide into understanding the visual system and preventing, treating and curing its disorders.

The Association's membership today numbers about 12,000 and is growing. Some 45% of members reside in over 75 countries outside the U.S. The membership is multidisciplinary and consists of both clinical and basic researchers. ARVO is a partner with the National Eye Institute where individual grant funding rates approach 15% or higher.
