If you would like to have bound copies of your thesis or dissertation, you may order copies of your document through ProQuest when you submit your pdf.

OR

After final approval by the Graduate School, you may make printed copies of your document. Please contact Tuscaloosa Bindery at 205-758-2204 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for information on binding.

Copyright law affects you in two ways: It governs the way in which you are allowed to use another person’s published works to support your own writing, and it determines how another person may use yours.

Editing and Publishing options are two important steps that should not be neglected as you complete your thesis or dissertation since all theses and dissertations will be published electronically through the UAB libraries.

Templates are designed to save you time in formatting your document, but they do not work exactly the same on all computers. Adjustments may be necessary. You are not required to use the templates, but the documents you submit must follow the same formatting. Using a UAB template does not guarantee compliance with Graduate School format requirements or with the requirements of your graduate program or committee. Templates require the accurate addition of your own information and may require the deletion of information that does not apply to your document (e.g., the List of Abbreviations line in the Table of Contents will have to the deleted if your document does not, in fact, have a List of Abbreviations).

All theses and dissertations beginning in the spring of 2007 are submitted electronically and are published through the UAB libraries’ digital collections.
