Snyder Erin L to R: Steven Fox, M.D., Patricia Ajayi-Fox, M.D., 1917 Clinic social worker Kathy Gaddis, Rheumatology pharmacist Katie Jones, Amanda Schnell, M.D., and Anand Iyer, M.D. On Wednesday, roughly 40 participants joined the DOM's Graduate Medical Education Health Disparities Collaboration program's inaugural lecture session “Patient Assistance Programs: Helping Our Patients Access Affordable Prescription Medications.” Panelists discussed approval processes, affordability challenges, and resources available to provide access to live-saving medications.

 

The newly formed program — led by Drs. Patricia Ajayi-Fox, Steven Fox, Anand Iyer, and Rebekah Weil — aims to cultivate a diverse community of fellows passionate about caring for vulnerable patient populations. The program provides relevant clinical experience, didactic planning, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

Fouad Selected to Serve on NIH Advisory Committee

Mona Fouad, M.D., MPH, (Professor, Preventive Medicine) has been elected to the National Institutes of Health’s Advisory Committee to the Director Working Group on Diversity which seeks to develop effective diversity-related research strategies for the NIH.

UAB and Walgreens Raise Awareness for Sarcoidosis
