The UAB Lung Health Center has appointed three new pulmonary leaders to advance the treatment and study of lung health. The new Medical Director, Mike Wells, M.D., will oversee operations and clinical research. Amit Gaggar, M.D., Ph.D., will serve as Scientific Director to supervise basic and translational research. And Gabriela Oates, Ph.D., will round out the team as Director of Population Health Sciences. Together, they will build on the innovative work of Drs. Mark Dransfield and Ed Blalock who led the Center for nearly 15 years as medical and scientific director respectively.

Welcome Dr. Awalpreet Chadha to Hematology and Oncology

Please welcome Assistant Professor Awalpreet Chadha, M.D., to the Division of Hematology and Oncology. Chadha joined UAB ABIM Research Pathway in 2016 and completed his post-doctoral training in the lab of Dr. Casey Weaver. His research interests include GI malignancy and tumor immunology.
